Educating Children to Know God, to Love Learning
and to Serve Others with Joy
St. Rose of Lima School is an NEASC accredited Diocese of
Bridgeport Catholic school that
educates the whole child, from the early pre-school years
through eighth grade. We pursue
an exemplary curriculum that is rich in intellectual
challenge and exceptional in academic
achievement; we nurture the virtues of individual integrity
and service to others; and we
envelope our students in a faith-based, moral environment
where Christ is the cornerstone.
SCHOOL MISSION
St. Rose of Lima Pre-K through 8 Roman Catholic School
educates children by
providing a foundation for individual academic excellence in
a faith-based community that is
committed to fostering personal spiritual growth, physical
development,responsibility, and
service to others.
CURRICULUM STANDARDS
Recognized as the top performing school among the 38 schools
in the Bridgeport Diocese, St.
Rose School was awarded the prestigious Excelsior Award in
2007. The school is one of only
fifty private schools nationally to be nominated for the
United States Department of Education's
prestigious 2009 NCLB Blue Ribbon Award. Based on IOWA
standardized test scores, this
distinguished nomination recognizes schools whose academic
performance ranks among the top
10% of all schools nationally. The school continues to
maintain an above average national Blue
Ribbon status since the 2009 recognition.
The St. Rose of Lima School academic programs are designed to
exceed the requirements of the
CT Department of Education, the Diocese of Bridgeport
curriculum and NEASC accreditation
standards in core areas such as Religion, Mathematics,
History, Science, and Language Arts. We
have a considerably high acceptance rate into the National
Junior Honor Society and the Johns
Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth Program - which
invites students who rank in
the top 99th percentile nationally to participate in this
program.
Nearly 95% of our graduating students are placed in honors and
advanced academic programs
in both public and prominent Catholic and private schools
such as Fairfield Preparatory,
Laurelton Hall, Immaculate High School, St. Joseph High
School, Holy Cross High School,
Notre Dame High School, Chase Collegiate, Hopkins, Taft,
Westover and Canterbury. Many of
our students receive distinguished scholarships from these
prestigious institutions.
