St. Rose Extended Family for Singles

This ministry is a group of men and women of all ages, who wish to build new friendships, share in spirituality, and offer support to one another in a joyful, social atmosphere. Our activities are varied, including concert attendance, dinners, arts festivals, hiking and other endeavors. Cancer Resource/Support Group (Ann's Place)

Is an outreach to cancer patients, their families and friends. The purpose of this ministry is to provide emotional, educational and spiritual support through the cancer journey. Help is offered for gathering appropriate health information, talking to doctors, coping with insurance and the use of relaxation therapies. Call Jean Conover, 426-6146.

Bereavement Support Group

Bereavement Support Group, a meeting for those who which to find support through prayer, scripture and sharing of personal experience while grieving a loss:

The group will have it's first meeting on April 19th, 2009 from 7-8 pm in the conference room on the main floor of 38 Church Hill Road.

Group will take place monthly on every 3rd Sunday from 7-8 pm thereafter.

When: whenever Religious Education office is open

The St. Rose Adult Religious Education Lending Library Bereavement Books Collection Policy applies to all of these materials. These books do not replace any needed professional care. The children's books in the collection can be shared with children upon parental approval and with the understanding that parents or those closest to the children know each individual child and situation best.

St. Joseph's Project

Exists to support the parish's ministry to those in need with respect to housing issues. St. Joseph Project will work continuously to raise funds in support of its mission.

With the support of St. Rose Parishioners St. Joseph Project has…
• Found housing for a mother & daughter with limited means so the daughter could finish her senior Year at NHS.
• Met with Landlords & Tenants to seek good matches for housing or newly divorced with emergency housing & financial needs
• Helped a new landlord find a good tenant.
• Supported a man whose family continually abused him and harassed him to leave his home.
• Helped single men & women find safe and affordable housing in town.
• Helped elderly men & women look for ways to qualify to sign up for Nunnawauk Meadows housing.
• Helped a family with reduced income & 2 children find a rental saving over $500 a month.
• Helped a family of 5 remain in their own home when the father lost his job and was not able to find work for almost a year.
• Helped pay for a grave for a homeless man.
• Covered the security deposit for a family to move from a small apartment to a larger, safer home.

AA

 AA meets weekly and is a voluntary, worldwide fellowship of men and women from all walks of life, trying to recover from alcoholism by sharing their experiences, strength and hope. 

Al-Anon

 Al-Anon provides a safe and trusting environment of family members and friends of alcoholics to talk about issues they face living with this disease.

NA

 Narcotics Anonymous provides weekly meetings for recovering drug addicts.  It is a community based association which follows the twelve step program of AA.
